En résumé (EM Arts) :
"The fall, the loss of control are central to Bas Jan Ader’s work which mainly consists of photographs, short films and performances. His film I’m too sad to tell you shows the face of the artist being drawn by sadness. Ader fails to control his emotions and bursts out in sobs, after which he tries to wipe away the tears with his hand. There is no camera movement and no background in the film, whereby any trace of anecdote except for the action vanishes.
The life of Bas Jan Ader was interwoven with his conceptual art, his mysterious and tragic disappearance in 1975 at the age of 33 was an unfinished work of art : as part of his project In Search of the Miraculous, Bas Jan Ader attempted to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a 13-foot sailboat. A few weeks after he lost radio contact, the boat was found off the coast of Ireland. His dead body, though, was never recovered"
